From First Visit to White-Glove Installation

Every Brookline project follows the same four steps. Each one happens in your home.

Kendra visits your home

She brings fabric swatches, shade samples, shutter stains, and hardware. You see each choice in your own light.

We measure every window

Older homes often have frames that are out of square. We measure by hand so each treatment fits.

You get a tailored plan

Kendra recommends fabrics, hardware, and motorization that suit your home and how you live.

White Glove installation

Our team installs your treatments from start to finish. No subcontractors and no shortcuts.

“My wife and I couldn’t be more pleased with Kendra’s work. She provided us with window treatments for our whole home. The quality and design are outstanding; they add so much color and finish to all our rooms and are worth every penny that we paid for them. The installation process was flawless. She was very thorough and job focused and completed the entire installation in a very short time. If you’re contemplating remodeling your home or decorating a new home as we were, and this includes new window treatments, I would whole-heartedly recommend contacting Kendra. You won’t be disappointed.”

“As a professional interior designer, I have worked with Kendra for years. After working with few other specialists before meeting her, I made Kendra my dedicated window treatment source. Even if I am not at the meeting with my client, I know she will display the professionalism that I can expect from all my sub-contractors. She is soft spoken, patient, knowledgeable, attentive to details, and an outstanding communicator. She is great! Thanks for being part of my team, Kendra!”

“Simply Windows was a FABULOUS find. I was referred to Kendra by another broker colleague. She was easy to deal with and had great advice on the type of window treatments to go in my new home. She constructed amazing cornices for my family room. She’s incredibly talented and has a great eye for color and style.”

“Kendra and her team measured my windows for faux wood blinds and had them made to order and installed within two weeks. They fit perfectly, look fantastic, and open and close with ease. The price was quite reasonable, significantly better than the online blinds stores. I would definitely recommend Simply Windows. It’s so nice to be able to work with the business owner rather than partially knowledgeable representative that the chain stores send out!”

Which Shades, Blinds, Drapery, and Shutters Fit Brookline Homes?

Brookline has a mix of historic homes and updated city living, so the best window treatments are often layered and carefully measured.

  • A front living room may need soft light and privacy.
  • A condo may need glare control and motorized shades.
  • A Victorian bedroom may need drapery that works with tall windows and detailed molding.

Simply Windows helps match each product to the room, not just the window.

Curtains and Custom Drapery

custom draperies add softness, color, and texture to Brookline interiors. They work well in dining rooms, bedrooms, and living room spaces where fabric can warm up older woodwork or frame tall windows.

Roman Shades, Cellular Shades, and Woven Wood Shades

custom window shades are a strong choice for clean style and easy daily use. Roman shades add a tailored fabric look, cellular shades can help with insulation during New England seasons, and woven wood shades bring natural texture to simple or transitional rooms.

Roman Shades and Woven Woods for Brookline Kitchens, Dining Rooms, and Smaller Windows

Not every room needs full-length drapery. Custom Roman shades and woven wood shades add softness and texture to kitchens, dining rooms, and smaller windows. Fabrics and natural weaves from Hunter Douglas and our other trusted vendors suit both Brookline's historic homes and its updated condos.

Custom Window Blinds for Flexible Control

custom window blinds are useful when you want quick control over light and privacy. Wood blinds, faux wood blinds, and metal blinds can work in offices, kitchens, bedrooms, and street-facing rooms.

Shutters for Classic Brookline Architecture

shutters bring a crisp, built-in look to older homes and newer renovations. Norman shutters are a good fit for homeowners who want clean lines, durability, and long-term style.

Tailored Window Coverings for Your Space

Window treatment costs in Brookline vary based on product type, material, motorization, and number of windows. Simply Windows offers a wide selection and will help you compare options without quoting a one-size-fits-all answer. Contact the team for a free, no-obligation quote and a solution that fits your home and your budget.

Window Treatments Built for New England Winters

Brookline's Victorians have tall windows and detailed molding, and winter drafts find them. The right treatment helps hold the warmth in.

Cellular shades

Honeycomb cells trap air at the glass. Hunter Douglas Duette® shades help with insulation through New England seasons.

A close, custom fit

Shades that sit snugly in the frame limit air movement around tall windows. We measure each one by hand.

Soft layers for older woodwork

Drapery over a shade warms up older woodwork and adds a cozy layer in bedrooms and living rooms.

LEARN MORE ABOUT CUSTOM DRAPES
Frequently Asked Questions: Brookline, MA

  • Q: How much do custom window treatments cost in Brookline, MA?

A: Custom window treatment costs in Brookline depend on the product type, material, window size, number of windows, and motorization needs. A simple blind project is different from custom drapery, shutters, or whole-home motorized shades. Simply Windows reviews your goals and provides a custom quote after the consultation.

  • Q: Does Simply Windows sell shades and blinds in Brookline, or only drapery?

A: Both. We offer custom Roman, woven wood, roller, and honeycomb shades, plus blinds, shutters, and drapery for Brookline homes. Hunter Douglas is our lead brand, with Norman and Alta Window Fashions. Kendra Weldon will help you choose the right mix for each room.

  • Q: How does the Simply Windows in-home consultation process work?

A: The consultation starts with a conversation about your room, light, privacy, style, and budget goals. Kendra brings samples so you can compare fabrics, shades, blinds, and shutters in your own home. After that, Simply Windows helps with product selection, measurements, ordering, and White Glove installation.

  • Q: What window treatments work best for Brookline’s Victorian homes and brownstones?

A: Brookline’s Victorian homes, brownstones, triple-deckers, and condos often need a mix of privacy, light control, and design detail. Draperies, Roman shades, woven wood shades, cellular shades, wood blinds, and shutters can all work well depending on the room. Simply Windows helps match the treatment to the window, trim, and lifestyle.

  • Q: Can you motorize shades on tall or arched windows in Brookline?

A: Often, yes. Tall windows in Brookline's Victorians and large glass in its condos can be hard to reach by hand. Kendra reviews each window in person, including its height, shape, and power options. We install Hunter Douglas PowerView systems, and we plan arched and oversized windows case by case.

  • Q: What window treatments help with drafty windows in older Brookline homes?

A: Cellular shades like Hunter Douglas Duette® trap air at the glass. A close, custom fit and layers such as lined drapery help too. We measure each window by hand so shades sit snugly in older Victorian frames.

  • Q: What types of window treatments and brands does Simply Windows carry?

A: Simply Windows carries custom shades, blinds, shutters, draperies, motorized treatments, bedding, and upholstery options. Brands include Hunter Douglas, PowerView, Lutron, Norman, Alta Window Fashions, Horizons, and Sunbrella. Fabric lines include Stout, Kasmir, Carole, Greenhouse, Kravet, Duralee, and Fabricut.

  • Q: Does Simply Windows offer free in-home consultations in Brookline, MA?

A: Yes. Simply Windows offers free in-home consultations in Brookline, MA, and the nearby Greater Boston areas. Kendra Weldon brings samples and ideas to your home so you can see colors, fabrics, and finishes in your own light. You can also visit the Westborough showroom by appointment.

  • Q: Do I need historic commission approval for interior window treatments in Brookline?

A: In Massachusetts, local historic district commissions generally review exterior features visible from a public way. Interior shades, drapery, and interior shutters are typically outside that review. Rules vary by town, so check with your local historic commission before changing anything on the exterior.
